The Full Picture

Josh LeBlanc is a senior at Columbia College Chicago with a major in Cinema and Television Arts and a minor in Marketing. He is graduating in December of 2023 and is looking to initiate himself in the film industry as a storyteller and a director. To date, LeBlanc has written and directed several short films, seeing them through directing production and editing in post-production. This work in the film production pipeline translates directly to his marketing work developing brand campaigns with executive clients like Dermacol Prague. When he is not creating, he is tracking which films are critically and financially successful through IMDb, Deadline, and The Hollywood Reporter. He examines how their creators became successful, and how he can apply that work mindset to his own projects. His goal is to create stories that are innovative and socially responsible.

In the summer of 2022, Josh took on the challenging endeavor of writing and directing his own independent short film, Aged UP. This dark comedy tracks two child friends played by adult actors, as they navigate their friendship through an increasingly toxic and mature image landscape. His resourcefulness allowed him to successfully market the film on Seed&Spark.com and Instagram through community engagement, weekly campaign updates, and daily reminders about contributing. LeBlanc was able to raise $2900 for production. Josh is a people person. He thrives on collaboration; sharing and receiving ideas from like-minded artists to support the success of a project.
